The Gender-Bending Madness of Dr. Rachel Levine

I’ve seen some shocking things in my life.

Still, nothing prepared me for hearing Dr. Rachel Levine, the U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health, spouting utter nonsense about how changing kids’ genders will soon be fully embraced by society.

The Biden administration has many dubious distinctions, but one of the most alarming is its promotion of a radical ideology that seeks to erase biological reality and impose a new regime of gender fluidity on society.

This ideology is especially harmful to children, who are confused and manipulated by it. And it is also dangerous to the very foundations of democracy, science, and human rights.

The most prominent exponent of this ideology in the administration is Dr. Rachel Levine, the assistant secretary for health and a four-star admiral in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.

Levine is a transgender woman who was born male and underwent sex reassignment surgery in 2011.

She also advocates for what she calls “gender-affirming care” for minors, which involves prescribing puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and even surgical interventions to children who express dissatisfaction with their birth sex.

Levine recently spoke at a pediatric grand rounds session at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, where she praised this controversial practice as having the “highest support” of the Biden administration and predicted that it would soon be normalized in the United States.

She also dismissed the political backlash against it as a temporary phenomenon that would fade away after 2024.

This is a stunning display of arrogance and ignorance from someone who is supposed to be a medical expert and a public servant.

Levine seems oblivious to the fact that there is no scientific consensus on the causes, diagnosis, or treatment of gender dysphoria in children and that there are serious ethical, legal, and medical risks involved in subjecting them to irreversible interventions that may harm their physical and mental health.

She also seems unaware of the growing number of detransitioners - people who regret their gender transition and seek to reverse it - who are speaking out about their experiences and demanding more caution and scrutiny from the medical profession.

Many of them were influenced by public schools, social media, peer pressure or ideological indoctrination when they decided to transition as teenagers or young adults, only to realize later that they had made a terrible mistake.

Levine’s position is not only unscientific but also undemocratic.

She ignores the legitimate concerns and objections of parents, educators, lawmakers, and citizens who do not want their children exposed to this radical agenda in schools, hospitals, or public spaces.

She disregards the democratic process by which several states have passed laws banning or restricting gender-affirming care for minors, reflecting the will of their voters and representatives.

She treats children as guinea pigs for an ideological experiment with no proven benefits but plenty of potential harm.

So, let's not be fooled by these radical leftists who are trying to push their agenda on our children.

We must protect our children and ensure that their medical treatment is based on rigorous scientific inquiry, not on dubious, agenda-driven studies or activists' demands.

In the end, it's our children's well-being that should come first, not political agendas or ideologies.
