Scooter Marks Slide Teens into Felony Hate-Crime Charges
Teens Face Felony Charges for Scootering Over Pride Mural in Washington State
In the heart of Washington State, a trio of teenagers is facing felony charges after leaving scooter marks on a gay pride mural.
No, this isn’t satire; you read that right — felony charges.
These young individuals could be staring down several years in prison for what amounts to, at worst, a juvenile act of mischief.
Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown and City Council President Betsy Wilkerson have labeled it a hate crime, with Brown stating, "To the LGBTQ+ community, please know that I stand in solidarity with you against all forms of discrimination and prejudice."
A no-ride zone has even been established around the mural to prevent future hateful acts of vandalism against, essentially, street paint.
Compare this to what happened just a few days ago in Brooklyn.
Randy Maldonado Avila, a 30-year-old man, attacked a Catholic church, destroying statues of Mother Teresa and Pope John XXIII with a hammer. The glass doors of the church were shattered, and yet, this heinous act of religious bigotry has barely made a blip in the mainstream media.
The charges?
Twelve crimes, but not a single mention of a hate crime and dead silence in the media.
Imagine if the situation were reversed—if a Christian had destroyed the glass doors and wall paintings of the famed GLADD headquarters.
The outrage would be deafening, and the assailant would be buried knee-deep in hate crime charges—for every door, wall painting, and even knocked-over coffee cup.
Then there's Attorney General Merrick Garland, found in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena.
Will the Justice Department prosecute him?
Of course not.
This is the same DOJ that has turned a blind eye to left-wing violence while relentlessly pursuing anyone connected to January 6th. They're still hunting down grandmothers who walked through the Capitol and prosecuting pro-life activists with a vengeance.
Contrast this with the treatment of Donald Trump's former advisers, Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon.
Both men were charged and convicted for defying a congressional subpoena. Navarro is already behind bars, and Bannon will likely join him soon.
The reality is stark—there are two systems of justice in America. One for the left, where leniency is the norm and bad behavior, including criminal behavior, is excused, and one for conservatives, where even the most minor infractions are met with the harshest penalties.
This isn't just about a couple of individual cases. The news is flooded with dozens of examples of two-tier justice.
Unfortunately, it will continue. Why? Because America also has a two-tier activist climate: one side is vocal to the point of violence, while the other sits back and watches as if it's a spectator sport.

The mayor is at least half right here even if she is otherwise a fool. Dispositions and behaviors that are so unnatural and so inhuman as to involve the worst of filthy misuse of an individual's procreative and other anatomical features is always rightly worthy of public contempt. Even a 12 y.o. can figure that out. As far as being a crime, the crime here is that an agenda driven moron who cannot identify the basic facts contingent with correct deployment of features found upon her own anatomy can still attain public office deploying her ignorance as a weapon of coercion to deface public property with a vile enshrinement and prey on mischievous children who apparently object.
